From the organizer:

You are invited to the activities of the dance project “Contemporary dance and development steps”. The project will be expressed through dance workshop sessions, discussion, analysis, images and instructions on how to build a choreographic  works. 

I. 10,11-11-2012 lead by dancer, dance instructor, choreographer BUI NGOC QUAN

Bui Ngoc Quan graduated Vietnam dance school in 1995, left to study contemporary dance in France since 1997. He has been involved as a dancer for many well-known dance companies in Europe. He is known now as international dancer, dance instructor and most invited choreographer in many countries.

About workshop:

Bui Ngoc Quan shares with the group a working method to find new movement and dance material that could be extremely physical, or quite simple. Form or concept are not so important for Quan. He familiarises the group with a cross of physical movement and dance, imaginary situations and recognize able circumstances that can awaken the body and sensations and that even can lead to unknown directions… Extreme? Awkward? Emotional? The workshop will certainly have a confrontational effect.

II. 17,24-11-2012 lead by dancer, dance instructor, choreographer QUACH PHUONG HOANG

Quach Phuong Hoang graduated dance school in 1993. After four years working at the Vietnamese Ballet Opera Theatre he received two-year scholarship to study in contemporary dance in France. From 1996 to 2007 it’s a journey to discover his abilities and learning in many contemporary dance groups in France such as: L ‘Esquisse, company Joelle Bouvier, company Claude Brumachon, company Caroline Carson … Quach Phuong Hoang participated with a starring role in many big works and had tour show in many countries around the world.

In 2007 he returned to Vietnam to work and began his choreographic career. Established dance group LIME in 2009. Contributed experimental works with LIME in: Solo (Le personage), Duo-Grapes, Moon Garden, Hanoi Moment … The work of Quach Phuong Hoang was performed on stage in Floence and Siena, Italy. He received the award Premio Franco Di Francescatonio in the festival Constance Combiamento, Italy.

About workshop:

As well as the writers wrote with his pen, with choreographer the dancer’s body is a pen, the material for him to write up his thoughts, sharing and creativity. So Quach Phuong Hoang once again would like to give us the examination of our motion in a flexible, dynamic and none limited. Body, such a pen will write on the new movement with liberal and proactive way.

III. 18,24-11-2012 lead by dancer, dance instructor, choreographer QUACH HOANG DIEP

After the graduation at the school dance Vietnam, Quach Hoang Diep become dancer of Vietnam National Opera and Ballet theatre. In 2001, the first time he was familiar with contemporary dance. It was a surprising discovery about his ability in a new kind of dance and makes a turning point in his dancing career. In 2002 – 2004 he studied in Coline dance company, France. 2004 – 2006 Quach Hoang Diep join Ballet Atlantic, France in many works of choreographer Regine Chopinote with a starring role. In 2006-2008 he worked with choreographer Ea Sola and performed in many countries around the world.

In 2008 he began teaching contemporary dance at the Vietnamese dance College. He is currently the contemporary teacher at dance faculty of the Hanoi Arts College.

About workshop:

Every human body is different by the structure of the skeleton, the arrangement of muscles, tendons and skin. No one is like none other. So, how do from the difference of the body can blend the same motion, the movement rule of the same dance. Given the harmony between different bodies, so they can listen to the movement, emotions and uplifted with the blend of dance. Quach Hoang Diep’s message will help you discover this.
