From DOCLAB:

Video Art Video cordially invites you to screening series called “Different Cinema” with 3 Women (124 min), a film by American director Robert Altman. The story came directly from a dream Altman had, which he did not fully understand, but nonetheless adapted into a treatment, intending to film without a script. 20th Century Fox financed the project based on Altman’s reputation, but a script was completed before filming, although, as with most Altman films, the script was just the beginning for what emerges during production.

The film depicts the increasingly bizarre, mysterious relationship between a woman (Duvall) and her room mate (Spacek) in a dusty, underpopulated Californian town. In a dusty, underpopulated California resort town, a naive southern waif, Pinky Rose (Sissy Spacek), idolizes and befriends her fellow nurse, the would-be sophisticate and “thoroughly modern” Millie Lammoreaux (Shelley Duvall). When Millie takes Pinky in as her roommate, Pinky’s hero worship evolves into something far stranger and more sinister than either could have anticipated. Featuring brilliant performances from Spacek and Duvall, this dreamlike masterpiece from Robert Altman careens from the humorous to the chilling to the surreal, resulting in one of the most unusual and compelling films of the 1970s.

The film is in English with English subtitle.

The screening is non-profit and aims for studies and research only.
