If you are a dancer who has always wanted to create your own work If you think you would benefit from exchanging ideas and receiving feedback from peers and experienced artists in the field If you seek to discover a personal dance language If you are trained in a form and want to experiment with it or extend its boundaries If you want to explore the space between dance and other disciplines
Then the Gati Summer Dance Residency may be for you!
GSDR is an annual 10-week residency that provides emerging dance choreo-graphers in India with an opportunity to create and stage their own performance.
Applications are invited from choreographers or dancers working in the classical and/or contemporary dance fields to submit an idea for a new choreographic work.
GSDR supports selected residents with feedback and assistance from established mentors. A mentor in this context is someone who helps raise questions, throw up ideas and introduce other perspectives during the choreographic process of the residents.
