From Goethe Insitut:
CAMA – Indochina’s longest running international music festival has been standing for good music, creativity and talent for seven years now. Once again in 2013, CAMA will bring domestic and international artists together in Hanoi. The bands of this year’s festival hail from Australia and Singapore, India and Brazil and of course well known Vietnamese musicians will be presented on October 12th from 1 to 11pm.
This year for the first time the German duo Raggabund will find their way to Hanoi. Presented by the Goethe-Institut, the brothers Paco Mendoza and Don Caramelo will play concerts in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, themed “Made in Berlin”. The Band has long ceased to be an insider’s tip: Dancehall-Ragga, Roots Reggae, Latinbeat, Hip Hop or relaxed ballads, Raggabund explores different musical genres and stands for energetic shows. Having toured California, Mexico, Guatemala and Peru, Raggabund already gained international recognition. Singing sometimes in German, sometimes in English and sometimes in Spanish, the German duo with Latin American roots covers a wide spectrum of languages in their music. In their texts, they take up a stance on political and social issues, but also make space for universal themes such as zest of life, love or desire, providing the right mixture of social criticism and entertainment.
