Check out list of events of Friends of Vietnam Heritage this month. And we also needs volunteers to fill out FVH’s programs. Now not only can you participate in these great experiences, you can help us make them happen!
– Shamanism in the Northern Mountains of Vietnam – a lecture by Dr. Mark Rapoport, expert in cultural objects and antiquities of Vietnam.
– Traditional Medicine: Grape Seaweed (that stuff tastes so good!). A traditional medicine expert with over 20 years’ experience, Ms. Võ Thanh Biểu, will explain the many benefits of grape seaweed. And, you will learn how to use it in food with a hands-on demonstration.
– 5 short films by emerging Vietnamese film producers.
– Hang Da Market Area – narrow streets, community temples, sidewalk vendors, splendid Chinese merchant houses – a walk in Japanese.
– Thang Long Palace archaeological dig and the Thang Long Citadel and the development of this area as the capital of Vietnam – a walk in English.
– 20th Century French Architecture, and the transition from Thang Long and feudal Vietnam to Hanoi and modern Vietnam, including a visit to the home of President Ho Chi Minh – a walk in English.
– Phu Nhai Church and Archbishop’s Palace – a full-day excursion to Nam Dinh Province, the cradle of Catholicism in Vietnam since the 17th century.
