DomDom – The Hub for Experimental Music & Art proudly presents HANOI NEW MUSIC FESTIVAL 2013! From 30th November to 8th December The Hanoi New Music Festival 2013 will celebrate its premiere. It is the first time ever an experimental music festival will be held in Vietnam, establishing this brand-new showcase event on the annual festival agenda.

HNMF 2013 - The Rest is Noise More than 50 extraordinary international and national musicians from countries like UK, Germany, Italy, France and Scandinavia will perform on over 7 stages showing their skills to the public. The Hanoi New Music Festival presents five new commissioned compositions by local musicians/ artists/ choreographers among others SonX, Vu Nhat Tan, Nguyen Manh Hung, Nguyen Duc Minh, Pham Thi Hue, Nguyen Anh Duc; as well as outstanding international and national productions including Go To Hell by The Six Tones, What Makes The Spider Spin Her Web by Kim Ngoc, Phonotope by Rolf Wallin, Thanh Giong by Ton That Tiet. The festival gathers renowned musicians, improvisers and groups like The Six Tones, SISU, Hanoi Ensemble, Camusi, Lotte Anker, Stefan Östersjö, Kim Ngoc, Henrik Frisk, Thank Thuy, Jakob Riis, Burkhard Beins, Tri Minh, Tra My, Terje Thiwång and many more. In addition to the presentation of electro-acoustic music, a range of contemporary chamber music is an integral component of the festival. HNMF 2013 - New Meet Old 2 The festival’s vast experimental music shows are supplemented by an extensive cultural programme of performances and screenings. Under the title ‘The Blind Spot’ the festival aims not only to change the ‘invisibility’ of contemporary music in the local scene, filling the gaps in knowledge, but also to generate synergetic effects to strengthen musical infrastructures between Vietnam and the worldwide contemporary music scene. HNMF 2013 - Go To Hell_Thuy and My The Hanoi New Music Festival 2013 will take place in different venues in Hanoi including DomDom the Hub for Experimental Music & Art which is one of the most exciting cultural venues in the city at the moment.
