Program of FVH in November
From Friends of Vietnam Heritage:
Have we got a great program for you for November!
– Walks from Bạch Mã Temple through the Old Quarter visiting lots of little nooks and crannies, and ending up at the back of Đồng Xuân Market and in a special and very secret wonderful Đình/Temple complex.
– A walk through Thăng Long Palace archaeological site – in Japanese.
– Walks around Trúc Bạch Lake learning about bronze-making in Vietnam, visiting a little “kitchen” foundry, and greeting Trấn Vũ, the fantastic statue of the great Protector of the North cast in nearly 4 tons of black bronze in the late 1600s
– A talk with expert Dr. Mark Rapoport about textiles of Vietnam – you should not miss this one! It’s incredible what you will learn.
– The film, “Street Vendors” – a great first-person account of the lives of these strong women.
– Lilting traditional Vietnamese music by master performers – what a charming way to spend an evening.
So, don’t delay, our events fill up quickly!
