HCMC – Doc Talk – We Live in Public
Sun 27 Apr 2014, 2 – 8 pm
The Observatory
From the organizer:
Looking for something to do on a Sunday afternoon? Well get out of the heat and head on over to our 2nd DOC TALK, monthly documentary screening event..
This month we have the incredibly fascinating, Sundance Grand Jury Prize winning film, WE LIVE IN PUBLIC. It examines how the internet has affected our lives through one of the “greatest Internet pioneer you’ve never heard of”, Josh Harris. This dot-com millionaire founded the first Internet television network, “Pseudo”, during the tech boom in the late 90’s. He created the art project/experiment, “Quiet: We Live in Public” which was an Orwellian, Big Brother concept that put together more than 100 artists in an underground bunker surrounded by 24 hour web cam surveillance.
See how Josh Harris in the 1990s predicts the future we are presently living in….facebook, twitter, instagram, Skype, live streaming. Josh Harris was right. WE LIVE IN PUBLIC.
