HCMC – Exhibition “Duras, beyond the barrage” of Betty Clavel

Betty Clavel was enamored with the charm of Vietnam after traveling here in 1993. And for 20 years, the French artist has been drawing non-stop about the country of her heart with topics ranging from markets, hats to bicycles and many other things.

Though known for her works about Vietnam, in this exhibition Betty Clavel will introduce a series of paintings inspired by the autobiographical book about the life of French writer Marguerite Duras. The exhibition “Duras, beyond the barrage” is to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the writer’s birth and also is a nice way for Betty to return to Vietnam while paying a tribute to a famous French writer born in Saigon.
