KVT 2014

Sakura 1

KVT witnesses a Japanese invasion.

MANZI HAS BEEN BENIGNLY INVADED BY ABOUT 13 YOUNG JAPANESE WOMEN ARTISTS UNTIL APRIL 7

The walls at Manzi are aglow with some really nice art pieces….mostly quality small pieces that range from minimally abstract to surrealistic figurative with a few adventures inbetween

It’s the sort of show that beginning artists of all ages should see…that established artists will get a real kick out of….and that all young Vietnamese artists should make sure they don’t miss….collectors would be advised to have a look too if they’re the sort of connoiseurs who want smaller pieces and find the big stuff too daunting

Take a peek at the artists’ folios as these expound on the work…some of which is at the concept stage

My favorites are the dyed curtains on 3 windows…an image of finished cloth installed in one of the folios is to die for

EXCELLENT BITS AND PIECES FOR SALE : PRINTED CLOTH…BROOCHES THAT YOU WANT MORE OF,… CARDS…all great quality and cheap as chips

IMAGES later if I can get the ornery things downloaded.

TAKE MY WORD FOR IT….IT”S A NICE LITTLE SHOW and the Japanese females hosting it are really hospitable….AND SO IS MANZI

Kiem Van Tim is a keen observer of life in general and the Hanoi cultural scene in particular and offers some of these observations to the Grapevine. KVT insists that these observations and opinion pieces are not critical reviews. Please see our Comment Guidelines / Moderation Policy and add your thoughts in the comment field below.
