Come and enjoy the first exclusive concert of the year: Ly Ngua O meets JumpforJazz.
After the very successful and well received ‘Chronology of Jazz’ series, JumpforJazz will continue to surprise its audience by introducing this unique self composed fusion of Jazz and Vietnamese folksong.
Following its aim to support and encourage young and talented Vietnamese musicians to perform and participate in a wide variety of concerts, this time the jumpforjazz-band includes three new talents: Hoang Ha on Drum, Nguyen Minh Duc on Double Bass, and Nguyen Huu Vuong on Piano.
In addition, JumpforJazz cooperated with contemporary composer Do Kien Cuong, who rearranged one of Vietnams oldest and most well known folksongs, Lý Ngựa Ô, which forms the basis of this concert. Do Kien Cuong himself will perform the arrangement on Oboe together with Bui Ha Mien on Cello.
The accompanying Jazz variations played by the Jazz band have been composed by JumpforJazz Music Director and bandleader, Mr Nguyen Bao Long.
