In this two day workshop participants are invited to think beyond the boundaries of standard two dimensional photography. Back from extensive residencies abroad seasoned multi-media artist, Nguyen The Son will lead the group through a series of lectures, activities, and assignments that encourage participants to explore at the boundaries of the most ubiquitous medium. Digital photography, photo collage, stop motion, and sculpture will all be deconstructed and constructed anew.

Nguyen The Son is an acclaimed Vietnamese artist who has been critically observing the changes in his urban environment for over a decade. His multidisciplinary art practices embrace silk painting, video art, photography, photo relief and photo installation. He holds a MFAs of the Central Academy of Fine Arts Beijing (CAFA) and is lecturing at the Vietnam University of Fine Art, has exhibited and done many workshops throughout Vietnam and in other countries.
Artist Nguyen The Son’s artworks are currently on show at Goethe-Institut, together with photos of four other photographers/authors of the photography book “Lost & Found Hanoi”.
