DANCE BOX’s residency program is seeking artists, scholars and curators who pursue work in the field of dance. The DANCE BOX residency programs are implemented in cooperation with our partners Art Theater dB KOBE, Studio dB Kobe, and Maizuru RB (Yashima art port). We encourage on experimentation and the process rather than focusing on the end result of the artists’ production.
Eligibility:
– Applicants must be non-Japanese
– An artist doesn’t need to be a dancer or a choreographer. Depending on a program or concept of research, we are interested in people who are working/researching about body-movements, performing arts and we are hoping for applicants who are doing research related to those fields.
– The final presentation of residence research is expected to be lecture, installations, form of exhibitions using video, or performance form.
Funding Support:
Airfare, accommodation, domestic transportation expenses, material costs.
