Southeast Asian Film Lab: Call for Projects
Deadline: 15 Sep 2014
Time of workshop: 08 – 14 Dec 2014
From the open call:
Headed by Cultural Medallion winner Eric Khoo, the Southeast Asian Film Lab is a 6-day writing workshop aimed at emerging screenwriters and directors from Southeast Asia. The focus is on stories exploring Southeast Asian identity, to be developed into feature length screenplays.
Applicants must be of Southeast Asian descent; between 18 to 35 years of age and must not have made a feature length film before.
The week-long session will include masterclasses with established practitioners from the region and special guests as well as networking opportunities. Participants will also receive individual consultation sessions with mentors. The film lab will end with a pitch in front of an industry jury, which will award the S$5,000 prize—presented by MM2 Entertainment—to the most promising project.
Ten projects will be selected to participate.
Southeast Asian Film Lab will cover accommodation for the duration of the workshop. A travel subsidy of not more than S$200 may be provided to participants traveling from outside of Singapore.
