Concert with Pianist Anne Chamberlain and Vietnamese Singers

From Goethe Institut:

The American pianist Anne Chamberlain already inspired the audience at the Goethe-Institut Hanoi in 2010 and 2013. This time together with Vietnamese musicians, she will take the audience on a musical journey from the 18th century German classic, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, to the compositions of Richard Strauss, which will be sung by Ryoko Bohkumi.

About artists

Anne Chamberlain, pianist, has travelled to Ha Noi many time to perform with both, singers and instrumentalists. She has played for singers at the Viet Nam Opera and Ballet Company as well as several concerts with instrumentalists at Goethe Institut, Manzi, and on VNTV and Ha Noi Radio. Ms. Chamberlain’s home is in the U.S. near New York City where she has played many solo concerts as well as collaborating with singers and other instrumentalists. She has played throughout the United States and in Europe where her programs often include contemporary music.

Dinh Thu Huong, pianist, graduated from the Ha Noi Academy Conservatory in 2000. Since then she has worked as accompanist for the Viet Nam Opera and Ballet chorus. She is currently also studying for her Master Degree with Professor Dr. Tran Thu Ha at the Ha Noi Academy Conservatory. Dinh Thu Huong and Anne Chamberlain have played together in concerts in Ha Noi in many times in past years.

Ryoko Bohmuki, soprano, graduated as a voice major from the Osaka College of Music, in Japan and has been living in Ha Noi since 2007. She performs in the chorus, as a soloist and as a pianist at the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet(VNOB), as well as at other concert houses.

Dao Thi To Loan, soprano, studies voice at the Viet Nam Academy of Music and will finish her degree work there this Summer. Her teachers include Trần Thị Ngọc Lan and Siri Torjesen. In 2011 she was award first prize in the Sao Mai National Singing Competition of Viet Nam. She was also granted a scholarship in 2012 from the Goethe Institute in Ha Noi to study in Germany where she studied in the cities of Bonn and Frankfurt for five months. Ms. To Loan performs both traditional and popular Vietnamese songs, as well as Western classical voice repertoire. She is considered to be among the best singers in Ha Noi and has been soloist with the Viet Nam Symphony Orchestra as well as having performed in several foreign countries.
