Science Film Festival Photo Competition
Science Film Festival Photo Competition calls for entries
Time: 13 Oct – 14 Dec 2014
From Goethe Institut:
We are looking for young photographers between 13 and 17 years who want to submit photos to our competition on this year’s topic, FUTURE TECHNOLOGIES.
Which technologies will shape tomorrow’s world? What promises and what dangers do these breakthroughs hold for us in store? Scientific discovery and technological innovation are accelerating at an extraordinary speed and the media is constantly adding new words to our vocabulary such as gentech, nanotech, synthetic biology, quantum computers and other concepts, which used to be the domain of expert researchers. Soon, they will also have an impact on our daily lives and the world we live in. How do new technologies change our lives over time to the future?
What are your visions of the future and the technologies we might use? There are no limits to your ideas, thoughts and associations. You can stage and design whatever comes to your mind, be it visionary, hopeful or critical. Let your imagination and creativity run free! We are looking forward to all submissions!
The activities will remain here after the festival and we look forward to building on this section from year to year, so please check in regularly for updates on ideas how to explore the themes covered.
To participate, simply submit your photo through our online registration (download here) during the international festival dates of October 13 to December 14, 2014. A selection of up to five pictures per country will be posted on our official Science Film Festival Facebook page for popular voting from December 21, 2014 to January 18, 2015. The two most popular photos per country will be displayed as part of an exhibition at the Award Ceremony of the Science Film Festival in the Deutsches Museum in Munich, Germany – the largest science museum in the world.
An international jury of photographers will select three international winners from the finalist with the following great prizes to win:
First Prize: Canon 7D Camera Kit
Second Prize: Polaroid Camera
Third Prize: Camera Kit for Mobile Phones
