Audio Treasure Hunt

The Hanoi Social Club and Echoes have teamed up to offer a unique opportunity – be involved in the making of an Audio Treasure Hunt.

Submit an idea for an Audio Treasure Hunt in Hanoi, and we’ll make the best one! Read on for suggestions about what you could include, and our rules.

WHAT IS AN AUDIO TREASURE HUNT?

A unique experience! Through the Echoes app, you’ll be able to hear clues on your smartphone at locations around the city. When you solve each of the clues you’ll be one step closer to being a winner! Participants will only be able to hear the clues when they get to specific locations.

We are looking for an audio treasure hunt script writer!

ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS
– Submit an idea for a Audio Treasure Hunt theme.
– Choose 2 locations and write the scripted puzzle/riddle that will play at each of those locations. The person doing the soundwalk will use your scripted puzzle/riddle in conjunction with the location to solve the problem. Your idea can be made in either English or Vietnamese. You can use songs, sounds, riddles, anything that can be recorded as audio for clues. Be creative!

THE WINNER WILL GET

– A chance to work with the Echoes team, who just won Tech in Asia’s new start-up competition,
– Expand your submitted ideas to an entire treasure hunt at many locations ready to show the world!
– A free meal at The Hanoi Social Club!
– Free entry to The Hanoi Social Club’s Tiny Music Club event for a month!

Here are some examples:

– Theme = food, location = Long Bien Market, riddle: “Go to stall G7 and say “Bán cho tôi một quả dứa, một nải chuối, và nửa cân táo.” – buy what he gives you for the cheapest price possible.
– Theme = music, location = Opera House, riddle: “Listen to the opera – video yourself doing what the opera singer is describing”
