From Goethe Institut:
A selection of short films of the Berlin International Film Festival 2015 is travelling to Asia as part of the “Berlinale Shorts Go Abroad” series of events. In Hanoi, the Goethe-Institut will present in Cooperation with Manzi Art Space ten exclusive short films from six different countries. The screenings take place in a special way at Manzi Art Space – Café: On both occasions the particular movies can be seen the whole day in loop from 10 am till 10 pm and welcome the guests to stay and exchange. The Berlinale Shorts also move to Ho Chi Minh City and Hue, thereafter they will continue their journey to more countries in Southeast Asia.
This year’s edition features movies of different nature: from documentaries to fictional stories, to animated movies. Central themes are personal life stories and rituals, portraying longing, love, cruelty and absurdism. Some of the films give thought-provoking impulses, others open up a whole new world to the viewer.
The Berlin International Film Festival, more commonly known as Berlinale, ranks among the most important film festivals in the world. Movies of all genres, lengths and formats are awarded. Since 2007, the Berlinale Shorts also awards prizes to short films, mostly works of talented young artists.
Films in original language with Vietnamese and English Subtitles.
Free admission.
