5/7 Nguyen Sieu street, Ben Nghe ward, Dist 1, HCMC
From the organizer:
Surprise! We can’t wait until Quest Festival to get our music back out there, so join us for a celebration of the Vietnamese Legends we focused on by building a graphic novel of six Vietnamese legendary myths by using the means of Vietnamese text, live visual art/3D mapping and live electronic music fused with an urban twist.
*NOTE* Due to the smaller space, there will be no dance performances by X_Clown or Oh Dance Team. BUT we expect to see you all out there on that dance floor grooving to the tunes of Legends of Vietnam Remix.
Standpoint Theories has established itself as one of a select number of productions that feature multi-disciplinary arts within the local Vietnamese and expat community. It was accepted into the Amsterdam Fringe Festival and has been published in the Contemporary Dance World Almanac 2015.
We focused on interpreting these six well-known Vietnamese Legends:
– The legendary story of Âu Cơ, an immortal mountain fairy who married Lạc Long Quân
– The god of Tản Viên Mountain known as, Sơn Tinh
– Phù Đổng Thiên Vương
– Chử Đồng Tử – a marsh boy
– Princess Liễu Hạnh, a heavenly spirit and Mother Goddess
– Bà Chúa Xứ known as Lady of the Realm
