From Singapore Embassy:

The Singapore Embassy in Hanoi cordially invites you to the “Scenes of Singapore – Celebrating Singapore’s 50 Years of Independence” art exhibition. The exhibition is in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Singapore’s Independence or what we call SG50. As part of our celebrations, the Singapore Embassy in Hanoi is collaborating with the Singapore Watercolour Society (SWS) to organise the exhibition.

This exhibition presents a collection of 25 works by 25 artists from the SWS. Through these paintings, we hope to share with friends in Vietnam how scenes of Singapore have changed over the past 50 years. You will be able to enjoy paintings depicting some of Singapore’s famous city landscapes, and nearly forgotten scenes of Singapore’s yesteryear. The works are the expressions of their feelings, thoughts, and nostalgia about Singapore which has undergone significant changes since our independence on 9 August 1965.

The SWS is one of the oldest watercolour societies in the region. Since its establishment in 1969, it has organised and participated in major exhibitions in Singapore and abroad. Many of its members have won awards in exhibitions and competitions around the world.
