Artist Talk: Light Art from Artist Group “The Core” – Berlin
Thu 12 Nov 2015, 7 pm
Goethe Institut
From Goethe Institut:
On 13 and 14 November 2015, The Core – a trio of media experts and light designers – will visit Hanoi and use video mapping to put the front of the Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum in the limelight.
But what exactly is video mapping and which technique is behind it?
During the artist talk on 12 November at 7 PM, the light designers will elaborate on their working methods and show more projects which they have successfully developed and realised over the past two decades, for instance for the Festival of Lights in Berlin or the Urban Art Forms Festival in Graz.
During these two days, the Goethe-Institut will also show other projects which The Core has successfully developed and realised during the past two decades: in loop and with music.
The Core consists of media experts and light designers Rick Kay, Chris Noelle and Jörg Reinauer, who focus on visual installations. After having worked together on space and club design concepts for legendary Berlin club Tresor for a long time, they decided to concentrate their knowledge and their visions in one joint team. Throughout the past two decades, The Core successfully developed projection and light design concepts with the goal of redefining urban space through individuality and industrial style.
