Singapore International Photography Festival (SIPF) is a biennial gathering of minds from around the world with the common pursuit to advance the art and appreciation of photography. It aims to be a much needed arena for critical thought and academic discourse on photography in Southeast Asia.
In the previous festival edition in 2014, SIPF received 707 submissions from 70 countries. Out of these submissions, 47 photographers from 23 countries were selected by the festival’s independent curatorial panel and exhibited across the National Museum of Singapore, DECK, and Chapel Gallery.
The fifth edition of Singapore International Photography Festival (SIPF) is now accepting online submissions from photographers and curators for its upcoming fifth edition in 2016. The festival has also launched a Curatorial Project Showcase, also subject of open call.
OPEN CALL CATEGORIES
– Open Call Showcase for photographers: Selected works will be exhibited in SIPF 2016.
– Curatorial Project Showcase for curators and collectives: The inaugural edition of the Curatorial Project Showcase seeks to provide a platform for emerging and independent curators committed to develop their professional practice in Southeast Asia.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Participants can submit up to 4 bodies of works. All submissions must be completed in English.
Submission fee: USD$30 per body of work.
Items to prepare:
– Biography and CV of photographer
– Artist Statement of body of works
– Min. 7 and max. 20 images per body of work
Official deadline: 29 February 2016.
Late submission deadline: from 1 Mar 2016 to 12 Mar 2016 (Late submission fee: USD$50 per body of work).
