Franz Joseph Haydn was a prominent and prolific Austrian composer of the Classical period. He was instrumental in the development of chamber music such as the piano trio and his contributions to musical form have earned him the epithets “Father of the Symphony” and “Father of the String Quartet”.
Born in Hamburg, Germany, on May 7, 1833, Brahms was the great master of symphonic and sonata style in the second half of the 19th century. He can be considered as the protagonist of the Classical tradition of Joseph Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven.
The most famous works of the two greatest composers: Brahms’s Symphony No. 1 in C minor, Op. 68, and the Theme and Variations by Haydn/Salzedo will be featured in the concert.
