SGIFF Southeast Asian Film Lab: Call for Applications
Deadline: Mon 22 Aug 2016, 6pm (GMT+8)
Time of film lab: 28 Nov – 03 Dec 2016

From the open call:

As part of the Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF), the SGIFF Southeast Asian Film Lab is a 6-day story development workshop aimed at first-time feature filmmakers from Southeast Asia, from 28 November to 3 December 2016.

The focus is on stories exploring Southeast Asian identity, to be developed into feature length screenplays. Ten projects will be selected to participate. The session will include masterclasses with established practitioners from the region and special guests as well as networking opportunities. Participants will also receive individual consultation sessions with mentors.

The film lab will end with a pitch in front of an industry jury, which will award the S$5,000 prize — presented by Giraffe Pictures — to the most promising project to be presented at the Silver Screen Awards. The programme is organised with the support of *SCAPE.

Past mentors include international producer Terence Chang, and award-winning director Eric Khoo. The 2016 SGIFF Southeast Asian Film Lab is led by mentors Anocha Suwichakornpong and Bernard Chauly.
