Born in 1960, Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt is a French-Belgium playwright, novelist and director. He received thirty awards including the Prix Goncourt, French Academy’s Grand Prix. His works have been translated into more than 40 languages worldwide. On 5 January 2016, he was elected to be a member of the Prix Goncourt jury, the most prestigious French literary prize.
Several of his works have been translated into Vietnamese by Nha Nam Publishing: La Part de l’Autre, Oscar and the Lady in Pink, Concerto à la mémoire d’un ange, The Sumo Wrestler Who Could Not Gain Weight, and C’est un beau jour de pluie.
