The Goethe-Institut and the Independent Institute for Environmental Issues (German: UfU) are glad to exhibit the creative results of an environmental protection student competition. On the occasion of the International Year of Soils 2015, the Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (German: BMUB) supported a competition in which over 300 students in 7th, 8th and 9th grade from Nam Dinh engaged artistically with the environmental problems of their country. The resulting photographs, paintings and stories are offering interesting insights into how the young generation perceives their environment and what can be done for the environmental protection.
The exhibition will be opened on November 11 at 6 PM by Ms Almuth Meyer-Zollitsch, director of the Goethe-Institut Vietnam, Mr Gunther Adler, state secretary of BMUB, as well as the pedagogue Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thu Phuong Hoa. After the exhibition at Goethe-Institut, the student’s works will move to the Vietnamese-German center in Hanoi. There, it can be seen from November 14 until November 30.
The exhibition is related to the Science Film Festival which takes place in Vietnam for the 6th time from October 2 until December 18. With movies and hands-on experiments, the festival aims to support the scientific education in Vietnam.
Founded in 1990, the Independent Institute for Environmental Issues (UfU) is a scientific institute and a non-governmental organization. It organizes national and international scientific projects, actions and networks within the field of climate protection and environmental education, environmental law and participation as well as resource management and environmental communication. UfU has been active in Vietnam since 2004 and predominantly leads projects in the field of soil conservation.
