This December, the organizer proudly presents “IN_UR_SCR!” – the very first online exhibition in Vietnam. The exhibition is brought together by a young generation of Vietnamese artists who share a special interest in Media Art, Internet and all the artistic possibilities that the virtual world has to offer.
IN_UR_SCR! (In your screen!) is inspired from an English phrase – “In your face!” to describe things and/or situations shocking and annoying in a way that is difficult to ignore. Nowadays, with the development of technology, Internet is invading our cellphones, tablets, laptops, desktops, televisions and many other screens. Drowning in this sea of content, the artists in the exhibition have been developing and spreading out their works with the purpose of “intruding”, and eventually creating a new approach to arts and new kind of interaction between artists and audience. Considering Internet a new space for art, all the artworks in this exhibition will exist as links and QR codes instead of physical objects in a traditional gallery. The audience is given unlimited access to the artworks, to be able to appreciate and think about them right on their screen, alone (in the material world) or not alone (in the virtual one). At the same time, they are encouraged to click Likes, comment and share, as a way to interact with the exhibition. As a result, the boundaries between arts/artworks/artists and content/content creators no longer exist.
