The program “Ballet with Tchaikovsky and Ravel” performed on 19th August last year left a strong impression on audience, especial those who love ballet. All three pieces in this performance are excellent.

We have a dreamy world, with various classical ballet style from long shimmering beautiful dress flying on the melody of the composition “Serenade” by Tchaikovsky. P.I.Tchaikovsky’s Ballet “Serenade” is rated as one of the most popular romantic ballet works since the 19th century. This works is the combination of pure beauty of the music and dance. It does not tell the story as specifically as the previous classics, nor has it the happy ending for a love story. “Serenade” has become one of the most performed works by countless different ballet companies.

Ravel’s “Bolero”, on the other hand, bring an intense modern style,a strong impression with the lightning effect, powerful choreography, sinewy. The music part of this work has become the most famous work in Ravel’s career and has inspire hundreds of cinema, cartoons, television programs, advertising and video games later in France, Europe, US, Japan…

Sung A Lung, the artist at the center of the program is one of the most talented artists of Ballet HBSO. He just won the Gold Medal in the contest “National Young choreographers” in July 2016 with the dance piece “Ru Dem” (Night’s Lullaby), which he choreographed and performed.
