For generations, weaving has been important heritage of Thai people of Quỳ Châu District in northern Nghệ An Province. Join the master weaver Sam Thi Tinh, a Thai ethnic women, born in traditional brocade Hoa Tien village of Quy Chau – Nghe An, grew up with her grand-mother, mother and others Thai women who are expert artisans, learn how to weave, dye and embroider since her childhood, and live in Hanoi now to sustain and develop the traditional craftsmanship for Hoa Tien brocade cooperative led by her mom since its foundation on 2010. During the workshop, how to weave traditional Thai motif on their textiles and learn the meaning of pattern such as mythical animals (dragon, phoenix), wild animals (elephant, horse, deer, turtle, tiger), plants, flowers, objects of everyday life and Vietnamese alphabet letters into patterns in themselves.

LANGUAGE: Vietnamese by the trainee Sam Thi Tinh. The workshop will be translated into English and French.

COST: 500,000 VND (25$), including fiber and weaving tool we use on the day.
