Have you ever thought of holding a brush pen and writing calligraphy on “Dó” paper just like the emperors wrote down their commands in ancient times? On Wednesday 12/07 you will have the opportunity to be a part of one of these historical moments hosted by Zó-Project.
Cool fact: your writings are likely to last up to 500 YEARS thanks to the traditional way of making our paper, that we are preserving with this project. The paper is completely handmade and it takes around 100 steps to have a finished piece.
At Zó Calligraphy Workshop, you will get your own time to get used to the brush pens, ink stones, “Dó” paper and to create your own words in calligraphy font, all under the care and support of our calligraphy master Ngẫu Thư – Nguyễn Thanh Tùng.
About the master:
Even after practicing calligraphy for the last 17 years, Ngẫu Thư does not want to be recognized as a calligraphy master. Ngẫu Thư graduated from literature field in Pedagogy University of Ho Chi Minh city. His studies in literature helped him to gain a more subtle feeling and gave him great inspiration for his calligraphy art work. Choosing calligraphy for his career, one of his main goal is to keep our Vietnamese tradition continuing to vanish in the modern life.
