“The Color of Water” is an autobiography written by the American author James McBride as a tribute to his mother, an European Jewish woman married to an African-American man. The book tells the story of a journey to find the roots, the identity, the self-confidence and the meaning of life of a mulatto representing millions of African-Americans in the US.
