From the organizer:

“The Prophecy” is one of the most successful films of Director – Meritorious Artist Vuong Duc, who is the Director of VFS, in collaboration with screenwriter and poet, Hoang Nhuan Cam. The film recounts President Ho Chi Minh’s time in the Viet Bac Resistance War Base in Northern Vietnam during the revolution against French colonists from 1947 to 1950. Like a poem about war and peace, the film reflects the admired talented country leader who is a man of great personality and wisdom, but is also very simple.

Despite the war context of the film, it is quite interesting that there are not massive scenes of landmines, firearms, fierce battles… to describe the devastating life in the battlefield; instead, the war unfolds in particularly humanistic and open perspectives.

With authentic footage in the mighty northwestern mountainous areas in Vietnam and magnificent scenes filmed in Russia, President Ho Chi Minh was well portrayed as a great patriotic revolutionary leader despite his simple characteristics. “He considered the motherland as his family and the countrymen as his family members. Contributing to his nation is the same as contributing to his own family,” said screenwriter Hoang Nhuan Cam.

Besides, the film also reveals excellent critical analysis of Uncle Ho. Although it was at a time of extreme hardship amid war bombs, Uncle Ho still had a strong aspiration for, placed firm belief in, and made an accurate forecast of the time of liberation in Hanoi. As said by screenwriter Hoang Nhuan Cam, “Our president always looks ahead to the steps of history, of the future like a prophet.”

The film was produced in 2015, duration of 1 hour 49 minutes, with English subtitles.
