Month of Arts Practice (MAP) is an annual project for exchange and creativity development in the fields of Visual Arts and Multimedia at Heritage Space initiated by visual artist Tran Trong Vu.
Following the successful of two MAPs in 2015-2016, 2017 will be the third year Heritage Space organizes this series of activities, with the participation of artists from Europe, Asia, as well as artists and groups in Hanoi. The title of MAP 2017 is ‘THE UTOPIA’, using as starting point for artist to participate and discuss, collaborate and practice, seek and create in order to establish an unprecedented space composed by existing data. In 05 weeks, from Sep 24 – Oct 30, 2017, the artists of the MAP will work basing on the reality that surrounds them and the reality of their own limits to dream about another reality and other limits.
The project incorporates not only multimedia composition activities, but also the exchange in the form of talk, debate and presentation of visual artist, organized by experienced artists and curators. Parallel activities will be held weekly with the collaboration of NGOs such as iSEE, Hagar International, CSAGA etc.The results of MAP 2017 will be showcased in a grand exhibition, revealing unique perspectives of artists in various kind of art forms, that being certainly a major event in Hanoi.
HOW CAN YOU JOIN US?
In this project, Heritage Space seeks for dynamic, enthusiastic volunteers who love arts and creativity. The volunteers not only help us within the project, but also have the opportunity to become long-term partners in the future activities at Heritage Space.
So we are seeking volunteers for the following tasks:
1. Translation (English – Vietnamese)
2. Documentary (filming & taking photos)
3. Logistics & Event management
4. Technical assistance for artists
5. Media (online and event)
The volunteers have the following benefits:
– Directly communicate and work with professional artists
– Cultivate and develop language skills
– Practice knowledge in real life
– Develop critical thinking and creative skills (which is especially beneficial for art students)
– Financial support (travel fee, etc…)
– Certificate from Heritage Space at the end of the program.

Heritage Space is a combination of an art gallery, a library, a concert hall, co-working office, residency space, artist studios and some open-stages, which has the capacity to host art exhibitions, music events, educational programs, multi-creative forms, artist-in-residency programs and others. Run by a group of curators, artists, researchers, musicians and architects, Heritage Space’s mission is to become a HUB for individuals and groups working on multi-disciplines from both inside and outside of the country to support and develop the creative industries in Vietnam.
