Halloween Fiesta with Rock Music and Costume
Sun 29 Oct 2017, 8 pm
Hanoi Rock City
27/52 To Ngoc Van, Tay Ho, Hanoi
From the organiser:
“HALLOWEEN FIESTA” is an absolute feast-y night with super cool five Hanoi local original heavy rock bands. Apart from music, there will also be face painting as well as food and fashion stalls, nice beers and cocktails.
About the bands:
1. Windrunner (metalcore/Djent)
Only after 2 years being active, Windrunner’s releases – quite a few singles and the EP “Vui” – have widely moved the domestic as well as foreign audience thanks to their modern metalcore sound mingling with some ambient and Djent twang. Windrunner has been in plenty of shows and festivals in and out the country, remarkably their South Korea tour in 2016 and Cambodia in 2017. Currently they are on their way there with a full-length album and will play their freshest tunes at our upcoming Halloween Fiesta show.
2. B52 (pop-rock)
It’s the B52 band from the very active club called “HUB”, the second year. Aside from Lê Hiếu (bassist), the rest of the band members all started as collaborators. After a little while going on as an independent band, B52 was officially founded and has been playing since January 2017.
Band members:
Lê Hiếu (bassist)
Đét (vocalist-keyboardist)
Luộc (drummer)
Trần Diệu My (vocalist)
Tùng (lead guitarist)
Lê Minh Tân (guitarist)
3. Bloodshed
A band that is heavily influenced by Dying Fetus, Katalepsy, Begging For Incest, etc., Bloodshed yearns for the sort of rough and somewhat violent sounds of Death and Slam. They will release their first EP album called SCROUNDREL at the end of this month on the occasion of their 3rd birthday.
Band members:
Quan – vocal
Duc – bass/backing vocal
Long – guitar
Ngoc – guitar
Hung – drums
4. Revenants
‘Generally we pursue pretty much all the genres, except those we agreed that we would not pursue anymore.’ Revenants simply just wants to bring in whatever they can play; whatever they can’t play, they categorise them “the genres we used to pursue”.
Band members:
Kiên Cua – Guitarist
Hoàng Việt Anh – Guitarist
Đức Lùn – Bassist
Hưng Béo – Drummer
Elly Trần Hiếu – Vocalist
5. MXM
Another very multi-cultural band of Hanoi – MXM is a socially conscious progressive hardcore band, with vocalist from South Africa, female bassist from Vietnam, Synth and Drummer from England. In support of the local underground community and with strong DIY ethics, the band released its first Banana Island TV produced video single ‘Golden Scion’ in June 2016, receiving considerable coverage on HARDCOREWORLDWIDE, BlankTV and Unite Asia. It has released a brand new EP called “Golden Scion” and 2 music videos (‘Ships’ and ‘Shelter’) in 2017 ahead of a SE Asia tour.
