PowerPoint Presentation

Sun 29 Oct 2017, 2.45 pm
N Square
51 Tô Ngọc Vân, Hanoi

From FVH:

FVH’s cultural series continues with a presentation given by Ho Trong Minh, who designed the 500,000 VND banknote at 29 years old. Previously he worked for the State Bank of Vietnam; now he teaches graphic design at the Fine Arts University while writing his thesis and a book on the history of Vietnamese paper money.

His presentation will cover:
• Vietnamese money (coins and notes) in ancient times and before 1945
• Vietnamese banknotes from 1945 to the present day
• Banks in Vietnam
• Designing the notes, the images used and the meanings of each image
• Q&A

Full programme agenda will be issued over the next few weeks.

The presentation will be supported by visual aids and verbal explanation. Our aim is to make this as visually interesting and as engaging as possible.

FVH is extremely honoured that Minh has agreed to host our event. He is the first person to document and consolidate information on Vietnamese banknotes, and we hope you are excited at the chance to meet an instrumental person in the modern era of Vietnamese banknotes.

We would also like to thank Associate Professor, Dr Pham Lan Oanh from the Vietnam Institute of Culture and Arts Studies for introducing us to Minh and for making this event possible.
