Workshop “The Art of Queer Performance”

Queer Forever! 2017 invites you all who would like to find out more about queer performance art to register for a workshop on 25 – 26/11 at Nha San Collective.

Program

>>> Day 1 – Introduction to queer performance art
Sat 25/11, 3 pm – 7 pm

Part 1: 3 pm – 5 pm
Introduction and group discussion on queer performance works

Part 2: 5.30 pm – 7 pm
Practice: 2 short performances (3-5 minutes each)

>>> Day 2 – Practice
Sun 26/11, 7 pm – 8.30 pm
Performing (5 – 10 mins or the whole workshop)

We propose the participants to choose a performance or or a queer performing practice of your choice to introduce to your group. After that, we will discuss those works and practices. During the two weeks coming to the workshop, QFF will post information on queer performances on Facebook as references; but we do hope you will observe and do research on queer practices of your own or your friends’ and share with the group.

The workshop starts on Sat 25/11. On the first day, the practice will take place right after the discussion. We will experiment with short improvised performances lasting for 3-5 minutes.

Day 2 of the workshop is for longer performances (5-10 minutes or the whole evening), taking place in parallel with other performances.
