Come to the discussion “Idioms and Proverbs: Old Sayings Are Never Wrong?” with the Hanoi Coffee Discussion community to voice your opinions and challenge your own views on social issues.
Program:
The discussion will cover the following questions:
– How realistic and true are idioms and proverbs to society, in the past and now? What social situations do they apply?
– What are the social issues mentioned in those old sayings: family, education, lifestyle, gender equality,…?
– How do we apply idioms and proverbs in modern society?
NOTE:
1. Participants should be present 15 minutes before the discussion start for check-in procedures.
2. After careful consideration, we would like to charge each participant 50,000VND at the check-in counter (including 1 free drink, paper & pen for the discussion).
3. Reading materials will be sent to participants via email to ensure they are equipped with basic knowledge about the topic.
4. The discussion will take place under the guidance of a facilitator and will not have guest-speakers to avoid passive listening, giving everyone the chance to raise their voices.
5. Each session is limited to 20 people.
6. The discussion will be conducted in VIETNAMESE.
Hanoi Coffee Discussion is a non-profit project aiming to create an open space for Vietnamese people of all ages to discuss, exchange ideas and obtain knowledge about social issues. From 08/2017, the project will have 1-2 coffee discussions each month with various social topics.
