Vietnam Museum of Ethnology

From the organizers:

Tết (Lunar New Year) is coming to town
What do you think when you think of Tết?

At the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, we know that the hustle and bustle of daily life is an excuse for people to forget the fundamental things that are close to their childhood.

Year end is a perfect time to ‘turn back time’ to the good old days of traditional Tết, with activities like making giò (a meat dish), erecting cây nêu (a new year bamboo tree), making Đông Hồ prints, writing new year’s calligraphy, making bánh chưng (sticky rice cakes) and playing the folk games that are unique to the Red River Delta.

At 1700km away, in the Southeast region, it’s where Bình Phước province is located.

Bình Phước – where nature is untouched by human. The sound of gongs, the melody of folk songs and traditional instrument here are considered the soul of cultural life of the southern people, which contains hidden meanings and beauty.

Besides, the southern traditional dishes will be a big surprise to visitors!

And the special gift from the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology to you, taking place at 18h00 on 24/02/2018, is a firework display to welcome peace and luck in the new year.

The event is an opportunity to experience the Tết traditions of both the South and the North of Vietnam while being in Hanoi. What are you waiting for?
