You are cordially invited to an exhibition of 60 paintings by artist Pham Luc – one of the most noticeable painters in Vietnam. The artworks were selected by curator/artist Le Thiet Cuong from a private collection of 700 artworks of Dr Nguyen Si Dung.
“Pham Luc possesses a liberated, spontaneous spirit when it comes to painting. Viewers can easily feel the strong waves of emotions, looking at his work. Painting, to Pham Luc, is catching those emotions and put them on the canvas with a strong sense of urgency. His style is quick and direct – no styling, “pruning”, or complicating what he has painted,” said curator Le Thiet Cuong.
A discussion with artist Pham Luc, art collector and curator Le Thiet Cuong themed on “War and Peace” will take place in conjunction with the exhibition. Several workshops, mini shows and art activities also take place at VCCA at weekends.
