The Europe Days 2018 was officially launched this morning, April 26, in a brief at a press briefing at the EU Delegation with many “spectacular events for the first time ever in Vietnam” especially the highlight “Europe Village” event in Hanoi.

The “Europe days 2018” will start with the opening of the “Europe Village” in May 4th’s evening. The event takes place at Ly Thai To statue Square, near Hoan Kiem lake until May 6 will offer about 30 on-stage and off-stage activities on various areas, raging from concert, sport, cultural performances, fashion show to creative game for kids and knowledge – stimulating activities. Visitors to the “Europe Village” will also enjoy various European cuisines or European products presented at the European companies’ booths.

A Special Concert on May 11 at Hanoi Opera House and 13/5 in city Ho Chi Minh City will present to the Vietnamese audience a program of romantic music by European composers including Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Fritz Kreisler, Peter Warlock, Frederic Chopin and Ludwig Van Beethoven performed by the young talented violonít Bui Cong Duy together with the Ensemble.

European Books days in Hanoi (from May 5 to 15) and in HCMC (from May 12 to 20) will introduce Vietnamese readers to new books from Austria, Denmark, Finland, Czech Republic, Spain, Sweden, Germany France, Italy and Belgium. There are also opportunities for readers to meet authors, listen to talks and readings, ỏ register for workshops on creative writing.

The Europe Days 2018 will also highlighted by the launching the Special Publication entitled “European Cultural Heritage”. 2018 has been designated the European Year of Cultural Heritage by the European Union, with the slogan “Our heritage: where the past meets the future.” By celebrating cultural heritage, the European Union also seeks to protect and make sure it will be passed on the the next generations.

Ambassador Bruno Angelet – Head of Delegation said: “Offering a wide range of spectacular events for the first time ever in Vietnam, we hope that Europe Days 2018 will cater exception occasion continuing to attract many people across the spectrum of Vietnamese society.”
