Sat 05 May 2018, 3 – 5 pm
Heritage Space
From Hanoi Grapevine and Heritage Space:
The profound and touching book titled “Điểm đến cuộc đời” (roughly translated as “The Destination of Life”) on the theme of dying and death, written by Đặng Hoàng Giang and published by Nhã Nam in the beginning of 2018, has been generating great impacts since its publishing.
His involvement with patients of cancer for months along with a detailed writing style, a direct approach to the truths as well as a diverse set of references have all contributed to a rare fascinating narrative non-fiction. It invites readers into such heart-felt stories that once you’ve started, you can hardly stop.
Within the series of art and literature exchange with author Đặng Hoàng Giang, Heritage Space and Hanoi Grapevine co-host a sharing by author Đặng Hoàng Giang for people who loved writing in general and narrative non-finction in particular. This genre has always been so attractive and persuasive thanks to the fact that it is based on reality and woven with the author’s emotions and experience in reflecting it, but so rarely can readers have the chance to enjoy this genre in Vietnam.
At the talk, the author will be sharing with the audience his writing progress, specifically how he developed the topic, found his characters and resources, processed information and delivered an emotional, persuasive and attractive book. Apart from professional sharing, he will also be mentioning how he is able to manage a work-life balance enough to stay loyal to his project from beginning to end.
This event will not only offer writing skills but also inspiration to anyone – individuals, groups and organizations who are interested in writing or have plans and ideas to write.
