Reading and Dancing Performance “Kafka Dances”

Within the framework of the Kafka Festival 2018 that is co-organized for the first time in Hanoi by the embassies of Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, France and Switzerland, two artists Charlotte SPITZER and Ziga JEREB from Austria will bring their contemporary art reading and dancing performance “KAFKA DANCES“ to Vietnamese audiences. The performance is combination between reading Kafka’s work and illustrative dance. It was created by the Austrian artists in 2014 and was performed at a lot of place not only in Europe but also around the world, attracting many audiences who fancy contemporary art and readers who love Kafka.
About the artists:
Charlotte Spitzer was born in 1966, she grew up in Germany and has been living in Vienna for 30 years. Since 2014 she has been active as Vice President of the Austrian Franz Kafka association and has drafted the concept for the redesign of the memorial rooms in Franz Kafka’s death home in Kierling/Klosterneuburg near Vienna. She has been reciting Kafka lyrics freely on various stages and forms together with Žiga Jereb the formation “Kafka dances” since 2014.
Žiga Jereb was born 1980 in Slovenia. He completed his dance education at the Conservatory of Music and Dance in Ljubljana and at the ballet school of the Vienna State Opera. He was a member of the ballet ensemble of the theater Krefeld/Mönchengladbach and Landestheater Linz.
