“One day, the 20th-century will be called KAFKA’S CENTURY” – Max Brod.
It is unquestionable that Franz Kafka is one of the biggest names in the literature field of the 20th century. Characteristic elements that had appeared in Kafka’s works since the early 20th century such as absurdism, existentialism, detective… when later applied to plays, films, music, visual art, and many other fields, have created attraction beyond imagination. However, it is not easy to understand the work of the great writer. The second talk of the Kafka Festival 2018, held in early April in Hanoi, will be an opportunity for literature lovers to share various experiences regarding the spreading of Franz Kafka’s art and his mark in Vietnamese literature.
Guest speaker: Doctor of Literature, Mr. Tran Ngoc Hieu
Students from the Reading Club of the National University of Education will join the discussion. These young readers will share the challenges of exploring Kafka’s work and their emotions when completing the journey.
