Cultural Event “A Touch of Belgium”

What do you know about Belgium?
To ensure that the answer is “a lot”, the event “A Touch of Belgium” was born to celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Belgium and Vietnam. The Belgian Embassy decided to stage a public event to celebrate our special bond with all of you in the in the heart of Hanoi. We would like to share some pieces of the Belgian culture with all of you.
At the entrance you will be greeted by the beloved blue creatures called Smurfs – who are celebrating their 60th birthday this year. Then you can choose to stay and watch a selection of the classic Smurfs cartoons or start crafting in the creative “Smurfs corner”. We invite you to wander around and learn more about the excellent work of active Belgian non-governmental organizations in Vietnam. And surely, any Belgian event won’t be completed without the well-known Belgian products – who does not want to feast on chocolate, waffles, fries, and cold beer in the summer?
And of course we can’t forget some of the most vibrant activities of Belgian contemporary scene in collaboration with many Vietnamese artists:
– The Majorettes, with their swift baton twirling and vibrant choreography, will perform their most well-known parades with live fanfare music from Hanoi Brass Band and they will also cooperate with Vietnamese cheerleader and children club Be Singer Hanoi
– Nicolas Coutsier, a young and talented choreographer from Belgium, will have a contemporary dance showcase named “Exploring Connections” with young dancers from Kinergie Studio (Vietnam)
– Belgian DJ Simon Medard & Cambodian VJ Daniel Long (d.one) will bring their best work to enliven the event with awesome live music and striking visuals
“A Touch of Belgium” takes place at Ly Thai To Square, Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi from 14:00 to 22:00, Saturday May 12th. Join us any time to enjoy a great Saturday full of great food and awesome activities! See you there!
