Doãn Hoàng Lâm said: “’Toan’ is a piece of canvas for artist to paint on like a rice field or a garden for the farmer to work on. The art labour of an artist is compared to a farmer who entitle their life to their land. Toan is a metaphor for the daily work of our group of painters, who for many years still work on canvases. Each of us has a different style of painting, a different fate but share the diligence, passion, and creativity in art practice.” Doan Hoang Lam is an artist who has made many sensible and intelligent explorations in the exploitation of painting materials, utilizing the language and intrinsic value of material as the basis for his artistic ideas.

Hoang Hai Anh’s paintings have a very highly expressive power with the frequent use of free, liberal bush strokes, very thick paint and brilliant colors. Some of Hoang Hai Anh’s works in “T.O.A. N” exhibition will introduce to the public the his artistic expression style through themes such as landscape and nude.

Luu Vu Long paints the world through children’s eyes. His works featured by the the raw, black brush strokes, rough and vivid colors taken directly from the color tubes create a colorful and vibrant world which is both playful and liberal and convey to viewers the feelings of innocence and happiness that seemingly can only be found through children’s eyes.

Doan Xuan Tang has spent many years dedicated to the subject of culture and scenery in the northern mountain region of Vietnam. His paintings are part documentation and part expression, lead the viewer to a mountainous world which is both very lyrical, poetic as well as vibrant and brilliant.

Doan Xuan Tang’s Cloud series which is to be shown in “T.O.A.N” exhibition symbolizes the movement and continuous transformation of human life in the Northern Highlands.

Known for his simple, less-use-of-colors but rich-in-expressing-emotion style of painting, Ly Hung Anh’s main focus in his artistic creation is the close subjects in everyday life. For the artist, not only human but the small objects have their own fate and soul, and are the source of inspiration for him to express his thought and unveil his artistic talent.

Tran Le Nam conceived: “I remove the outer form, grasp the inner structure of things and re-arrange them according to my own feeling, creating the associations in viewers.” Tran Le Nam has followed Abstract language for many years, his works featured by a strong, action-oriented style inspired by emotion and randomness.

“T.O.A. N” will be a milestone in the professional artistic career of the 6 artists.
