From the organizers:

“Ky thuat ve son dau” (Oil Painting Techniques) is a book scientifically and systematically complied from more than 40 researches done by Nguyen Dinh Dang, a famous artist specialized in oil paintings who currently resides in Japan. This is the very first book on oil paintings published by a Vietnamese artist in Vietnam; a detailed, comprehensive “textbook” created with the author’s knowledge and experience from more than 40 years of practicing with oil paintings.

Dong A Books hopes that Oil Painting Techniques will be the first Vietnamese-language book to systematically deliver the knowledge on multi-layered techniques used in oil paintings of classic masters – the techniques that has brought glory to oil paintings in last 600 years since the 15th century.

At the discussion, author Nguyen Dinh Dang will share with the audience his journey of writing the book and other interesting stories of arts in general and of oil paintings in particular.
