Soul Cocktail with Spooky Jazz Tribe
A freshly assembled ensemble, gathered from the ranks of Hanoi’s most mysterious music-making creatures, hailing from various corners of the globe and wielding an odd assortment of acoustic implements, the Spooky Jazz Tribe casts a spell of romantic reminiscence through its musical mélange of old jazz standards, Burt Bacharach tunes, Motown hits, and other familiar melodies rendered unfamiliar by the Tribe’s funky folk flair.

A jazzy night with OnNi & Mathew
On Ni is an American vocalist hailing from Maryland, USA. She studied vocal performance at university in New Orleans, LA where she trained in classical and jazz repertoire and sang in her college acappella group. Since settling in Hanoi, she has been a part of many musical projects from reggae bands to synth pop ballads. On Ni enjoys singing a wide variety from folk to rnb, and is pleased to be sharing the stage with her counterpart, Matthew.
Bringing acoustic music to the next level, Matthew Hyland is a self taught guitarist from Dublin, Ireland. Having traveled and played around the world, he has found a home in the booming Hanoi music as both a solo artist and with larger acts (The Spooky Jazz Tribe). Being influenced by and collaborating with many international artists, you could to hear anything from Jazz and Bossa Nova to Soul and Pop – no style is off limits. Whatever the genre, expect to hear you favourite songs with fresh arrangements and solid groove.
A blues night with P.T. Collieger
Still fresh from Melbourne, P.T. Collieger is here to share some Australian blues with you at Soul Bar. Collieger will be performing re-styled covers of some of his favourite tracks as well as original songs from his upcoming album “Low Twenties, Mostly Sunny”.
The TranSplanted are Hanoi’s World Music Band, bound together by the passion for the World’s traditional music from Africa, Asia, Europe and Australia. With members from all over the world, the music itself is a Journey that keeps your ears on the road.
