The quartet is an encounter on stage between father and son, bound together by the same culture, the same love for music and of course, tenderness. They understand each other, and their conversations in music happen as easy as in daily life.

Steve Houben has performed with legends like Chet Baker, Mike Stern, George Coleman, Gerry Mulligan, Clark Terry, Joe Eardley, Joe Newman, etc. His music ability, improvising talent, and relentless creativity make him a widely known artist in the world and an icon of Belgium jazz music.

Grégory Houben is a multi-talented artist. He learned to play the trompette, but his heart was always torn between music and acting, between jazz and French songs, between his beloved homeland Belgium and Brazil – a country he explored while on a vacation when he was 17, the land which aroused in him the passion to devote to music wholeheartedly. Even when he was studying in the conservatory, he already started writing music and discovered his love for singing.
Joining them in Vietnam this time are two undeniable icons of Belgium jazz music:

Jean-Louis Rassinfosse, a well-known contrabass musician. He is highly regarded with his warm, romantic music heard through hundreds of records. He worked with almost every single famous jazz artists in Belgium: Toots Thielemans, Philip Catherine, Jacques Pelzer, Sadi, Michel Herr, Steve Houben, Eric Legnini…

Quentin Liégeois the guitarist who won the New Talent award of DjangodOr 2009, First Prize for Jazz guitar at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. As of current, he plays music with Pascal Mohy, Steve Houben, Grégory Houben, Philip Catherine, Alexandre Cavalière, Chrystel Wauthier, Tcha Limberger, l’EYJO (European Youth Jazz Orchestra), Alexandre Tripodi, Robert Jeanne and Daniel Willem…
Meritorious Artist Quyen Van Minh: Quyen Van Minh is known as the first and number one jazz saxophonist in Vietnam. From a star saxophone musician, he became the pioneering teacher in the systematic education of jazz music in Vietnam in 1989. During his 40 years of playing the saxophone, Quyen Van Minh has participated in various local and international performances, and even met and played with many world-class jazz artists.
Quyen Thien Dac was born in 1979 in Hanoi. He is the only son of saxophonist Quyen Van Minh. Following his father’s footstep, at the age of 12, Dac learned the clarinette at Vietnam National Academy of Music. After graduation from the academy, he won a scholarship for Berklee College of Boston (USA). In 2011, Quyen Thien Dac returned home with a Master’s degree from Sweden.
