You are invited to the discussion “Bronze Drums of South-East Asia” with our guest speaker Jacques de Guerny, PhD. in Economics in France, Harvard Business School in US.
The odyssey of the bronze drums lasted almost two thousand and five hundred years until today; on their soundboard and cylindrical base made of copper alloys, they were melted down little by little or carved with admirable decorations. Drums have influenced the traditions of people from southern China to the islands of Indonesia and, from the beginning, the future Vietnam.
Jacques de Guerny presents these musical instruments, from their conception to their uses, after having travelled their historical paths before writing this work of his.
