Hanoi Indie Craft Fair – Hội Chợ Thủ Công Nghệ Thuật is a craft fair event organized by Hanoi Indie Troupé, which serves as the gathering point for stakeholders of the current art & craft supply chain in Hanoi, including 38 vendors within Hanoi Indie Troupe’s current network and beyond.

The fair will be much larger in scale and much more inclusive compared to their previous market events. While developed and organized independently, Hanoi Indie Craft Fair also takes part in Vietnam Festival of Media & Design: “Hanoi 2019 – To honour a creative city” – a series of independent creative events set to happen from the 1st to 17th of November 2019. The festival is led by RMIT Vietnam in association with UNESCO and VICAS, with media support by Hanoi Grapevine.

Hanoi Indie Craft Fair is more than just a fair where you can browse for original, local arts & craft products. This is also a rare occasion in which you can learn about the untold tales surrounding the materials which put together these products, their origins, regional traditions and contemporary trends. The fair is organized by young craft-makers and artists via their passion to research and expand the creative market, based on the current development of the local arts & craft supply chain. This supply chain is the key to a more substantial foundation for the arts & craft industry, which holds countless potentials to evolve much stronger and gain more public recognition in a near future.

There will be brands who represent the bridging points between traditional heritage and the modern art scene; ethnic minority culture and urban fashion; the supply channel and the makers… also between new indie brands and their target market. Some other brands will showcase the practical applications of craft-making in daily necessities, advising customers towards a healthier and greener lifestyle. Last but not least, we will be joined by various brands who bring in hand-crafted accessories, decorative items, collectibles, journals and art prints… offering a diversity of original designs and palettes.

The organizers of Hanoi Indie Craft Fair offer a special feature to set their fair apart from similar events, that is an educational program of workshops/talk shows which take place during the fair time slot, at designated rooms separate from the fair area within Toong IPH’s facility. These workshops/talk shows are hosted by their own vendors who are experienced artists/makers of many different fields, in order to promote technical understanding, inspiration and connection in different arts and crafts – at the same time may serve as a form of entertainment for visitors.

Some talk shows/workshops may offer English assistance while the others may not, please message the organizers in case of further inquiries. The number of participants in each talk show/workshop is limited so priority will be given to those who fill in their registration form and make payment by bank transfer in advance!

The fair event is suitable for all ages and will be organized bilingually (VN/Eng), with pantry, lift & escalator access for customers. Parking is available at the basement of Indochina Plaza complex, please follow the instruction into Toong IPH to find the fair area.
